Nov 19, OPEN HOUSE council meeting

Nov 19, OPEN HOUSE council meeting

Worthy Brothers,

Just a brotherly reminder, please come to our monthly council meeting this thursday, Nov 19, 2009.

As always, we meet at 7:30 PM; HOWEVER WE ARE MEETING AT 7PM FOR THE 19TH for the Open House.

Wives and families (and prospects) welcome!

I'd like to encourage all incoming officers and all members to bring in a guest to our meeting. The more we are..the stronger we get. Two are better than one and a three-ply cord is not easily broken.

Think of some ways we can do fundraising to support our Gym Booster Club. We will need new members to support all our works and future projects for the Church and our community.

All our meetings are important, so try to attend all of them. Our success depends on you.

Flood relief work in the Philippines

Flood relief work in the Philippines

Worthy Brother Knights,

I have been overseas in the Philippines since October 2009

after a series of 2 typhoons to lead a group of prayer

warriors doing flood relief operations.

This is what they mean by transitioning from talking the

talk to walking the walk (actually, more of wading in the

flood water).

It is so liberating to do God's work, distributing relief goods and feeding schoolchildren in the flooded areas. We had collected donations in kind and in cash prior to my departure. The local guys help me prepare the distribution of packages and bringing hot food (the flood victims are done with canned goods). What an experience for the moment of truth to witness, touch and smell reality on the ground.

Please say a silent prayer for my volunteer group, some are ex-Marines and Air Force fly boys - my underclassmen at the Military Academy.

Thank you.

S/K Basil "Butch" Moreto

Installation of Officers

Installation of Officers

On Friday July 24, we will be having our practice installation at 7pm in the school gym at Good Shepherd.  All in coming officers are requested to attend this practice.  Wives are not required to attend the practice. Children can come too.

On Saturday July 25,  installation of officers will start at 6pm at Good Shepherd Church following the 5pm mass.  For the installation,  I am requesting all incoming officers to wear suit and tie.

There will be dinner in St Rita's Hall following the installation.  Please help by providing a side dish or appetizer.

Please reply to erikd-sfrd@sbcglobal.net by Wednesday with number of people for dinner,  so we can order the appropriate amount of food.

Father W. Adalbert Gluszek Garden

Father W. Adalbert Gluszek Garden

Worthy Brothers,

Frank Thude wants to find out if we have a plan yet for cleaning and planting of Father Gluszek Garden. Donna Smith has a separate fund for it.

We should be able to handle this project if majority of us can volunteer. Brothers, let us unite to fulfill Father Michael J. McGivney's vision.

We will talk about this more on our Council meetings. God Bless!

Come to our meeting and bring new ideas how to better serve the Church and our community.

Vivat Jesus!

Brother Gil
